Off-hook Voice Announce lets you receive a Direct Page during a handset or headset call.
If Off-hook Voice Announce is activated, during a page a short ring is heard at both the paging telephone and the paged telephone before the Off-hook Voice Announce is established. Then the Off-hook Voice Announce is heard through the speaker of the paged telephone without interrupting the handset/headset call.
You can program the system to automatically establish a handsfree call when the paged telephone receives an Off-hook Voice Announce from a telephone making a Direct Page. After enabling Handsfree Answerback, press the Microphone key on the paged telephone to turn the feature on. When the paged telephone receives an Off-hook Voice Announce, two calls will be supported: one on the handset/headset, the other handsfree.
Off-hook Voice Announce is not available if a set belongs to a network zone configured for Mass Audio Notification.
Off-hook Voice Announce is only available on some phones; see Feature Availability below for more information.
Off-hook Voice Announce is not supported for OpenPhone handsets. Do not enable Off-Hook Voice Announce Allowed in the Class of Service of OpenPhones.
If the set is off-hook but not in a call on the handset, the call will not complete. Busy tone is returned to the calling party.
The second B channel of the paged telephone must be available. The second B channel is used by the SIM2. If the attached analog device is in use, Off-hook Voice Announce cannot be received by the host telephone; if Off-hook Voice Announce is in progress, attached analog devices are busy.
Off-hook Voice Announce is not allowed if the AIM is set as a non-busy extension in the Analog Sets form.
The 6905 and 6910 IP Phones do not support using the Mute key to toggle between the Off-hook Voice Announce call and the current active call.
Off-hook Voice Announce is blocked on 6920 and 6930 IP Phones with an active headset call.
